The Fundamentals On Mitochondrial Vitamins

By Tracie Knight

Health global recent research demonstrated a vast 60% of adult and children who suffers from deficiency diseases. The focus on mitochondrial vitamins touches so much on vitamin D. The patients were diagnosed with problems on muscle and bone fatigue and rickets. This essential blood nutrient is derived from sun energy and other food such as fish. The mitochondrial has vitamin C and D.

The importance of mitochondrial is that it gives the cell energy to enhance day to day activities of man. Some scientist sometimes refers it to as the battery cells. The deficiency of this essential nutrient, leads to formation of constant muscle fatigue and rickets in humans. This is because of functioning of mitochondria, depends on the oxygen and glucose to provide energy that aid in all the functioning activities of the cell.

Energy is made in form of Adenosine Triphosphate which is crucial for movement of muscle in human body. Muscles cells use phosphocreatine to manufacture ATP. Cell organelle also functions to regenerate this phosphocreatine after contraction of muscles. The function of this important cell organelle is affected by low level of vitamin D.

Recently, research was carried out on emerging health problems that is in line with this nutrient. A test was carried out on the affected patients with the provision of oral dosage of nutrients rich supplements at the length of 10-12 weeks. A decrease in recovery time and functioning of the organelle was noted. Phosphocreatine levels recovery was also noted to have improved.

Vitamin C helps to improve immune system and prevents inflammation and formation of scurvy. Its deficiency causes problems such as gum disease and hair loss. On relation of this important nutrient with cell organelle, it was recently identified in GLUT10, a glucose transporter that transported oxidized vitamin C. This glucose helps in protection of cell organelle against oxidative stress.

This finding increased understanding on causes of hereditary connective tissue disorder of arterial tortousity syndrome. It was also deduced that oxidative stress occurs due to cellular imbalance of molecules that are chemically reactive that contain reactive oxygen species and the ability of unit of life to detoxicate the unit of life and help in the repair of damaged tissues.

Predictions of mitochondria being the production site of reactive oxygen species is by most scientists. They believe that it also helps in recycling of dehydroascorbic acid from its activity. Correlation on molecular means, that are based on dehydroascorbic acid is still to be unraveled. However, it has been noted that cases of arterial tortousity syndrome is due to abnormal functioning of GLUT10. This can also be applied in understanding the relation of type 2 diabetes and GLUT10 as a corroboration of ROS and DHA.

In order to boost functioning of your body tissues and cells, you need to take food rich in these vitamins. Dehydroascorbic acid is found in vegetables such as spinach and cabbages, fruits such as strawberry and oranges. Always check on your diet, for this is an advice that you should put in place. On where you do not have well conversant knowledge on amount to be taken daily, go for medical advice from your personal doctor.
