USA residents are estimated to be spending in excess of $30 billion a year on diet programs, diet foods and drinks. In western Europe, sales of weight-loss products topped $1.4 billion in 2009. The fact is that they don't want you to lose weight (and keep it off ) The more times you fail and try again the more money they make. So you are presented with all these low fat, low calorie, low carb diets many of which will help you lose weight but will not keep it off permanently (which is what you want ) and so you put the weight back on again. No wonder you are frustrated!!
Low Fat diets
Eat less fats lose weight right? Not necessarily. Although it is generally agreed that a diet high in saturated fats is to be avoided as these are proven to contribute to heart attacks and strokes. However if you cut back too much on your fat intake you are putting your health at risk, and as with other restrictive diets you will end up craving these fats and can end up binging on those very things you are trying to cut back on. Then you will put the weight back on. As you may know there are "good" fats and "bad" fats, so by going on a low fat diet you will be not only eliminating "bad" fats but also the "good" fats your body needs. Bad fats such as trans fatty acids are present in candy, cakes, pies, cookies, pastries, crackers, biscuits, cereals, deep fried foods, fatty meat from beef and sheep, soups, margarine and some salad dressings. The better known "Bad" fats, called Saturated fats, are found mainly in animal foods, such as beef, pork, lamb, butter, cheese, cream, ice cream and other full-fat and low-fat dairy products. It's also found in tropical palm and coconut oils.
Low Carb Diets
Although it is possible to lose weight quickly using this popular type of diet it has been proven by clinical trials that the benefits of this type of diet will be short term and the weight will eventually be regained. Although it is a good idea to cut back on refined carbohydrates, such as sweets (candies), cookies (biscuits), and cakes, replacing these with "good" carbs such as whole grains, vegetables and legumes. It is a very bad idea to severely cut back on carbs because: (A) A body deprived of stored glucose will break down muscle to use for energy. Muscle loss is obviously not desirable and it slows down the body's metabolism which results in halting the weight loss and a regaining of lost weight. (B) Your body needs glucose for energy so cutting out carbs will leave you suffering from severe fatigue.
Low Calorie Diets
It is quite understandable and seems quite logical to argue that if you put less calories into your body that you will lose weight and there is some truth in that. The problem with low calorie diets is that, as well as the tedious calorie counting involved, you will be feeling hungry all the time because you are not consuming the same bulk of food that your stomach has become accustomed to.This very often leads to binging again and you are therefore most likely to fall off the wagon and fail. If you restrict your calorie input below what is recommended for your age, gender, and activity level, you are in serious danger of malnutrition leading to muscle loss, and corresponding slow metabolism so you regain the weight. Very low calorie diets also cause serious health problems.
All these dieting methods can help you to lose weight but nearly always fail because you are depriving yourself of the foods you love and enjoy, leading to cravings, hunger, frustration, resentment and lack of motivation. What you need is a way to lose weight that is easy, doesn't mean giving up your favourite foods, doesn't involve hours and hours of workouts and blends in seamlessly with your lifestyle so once you have attained the body shape you love you will remain that way for the rest of your life, never putting the weight back on again.
Thankfully these days there are fat loss methods which incorporate common sense as well as science in the quest for ways to permanently lose fat, which don't make you feel miserable, eternally ravenous, weak and exhausted. Gentle regimes that work quickly and are easy to implement with lasting results. For more information on Fat Loss Click Here [http://worldwidereviews.co.uk/Fat-Burning-Furnace-Review]
